  10.   Let's see what we've learned in the

  12. past few months...  We know how to

  14. define instruments with ADSR.  We can
  15.  
  16. further define them using waveform
  17.  
  18. and pulse rate, and we know how to
  19.  
  20. set pitch.  It sounds like we know
  21.  
  22. everything we need to make music.
  23.  
  24.   But we haven't covered everything
  25.  
  26. there is to know about Commdore 64
  27.  
  28. sound... not by a long shot.  You
  29.  
  30. can filter the voices; you can
  31.  
  32. "ring modulate" them; you can play
  33.  
  34. them in the background while other
  35.  
  36. things are going on.  But what we
  37.  
  38. HAVE given you will get you started.
  39.  
  40. If you want to become a sound
  41.  
  42. professional, I suggest you do what
  43.  
  44. most of us have done:  get out the
  45.  
  46. reference manuals and start
  47.  
  48. experimenting.  Learning by doing
  49.  
  50. really is the best way.

  52.   What did WE do for you this month?
  53.  
  54. Well, we put together three short
  55.  
  56. demo programs:
  57.  
  58.    PPS #46, YIKES, and HORRORS.
  59.  
  60.  
  61.   PPS #46 is our featured demo. It's
  62.  
  63. a two-octave, one-note-at-a-time
  64.  
  65. organ keyboard. Not very fancy, but
  66.  
  67. it may get you started making music
  68.  
  69. with your 64.  YIKES and HORRORS are
  70.  
  71. just some junk sounds we came up with
  72.  
  73. while we were experimenting.  If you
  74.  
  75. want to hear those two, you'll have
  76.  
  77. to LOAD and RUN them yourselves.
